Leta Roberts is a former long-time smoker who faced a possible diagnosis of lung cancer. She had undergone a procedure years ago to fix a collapsed lung, and was an unlikely candidate for another invasive operation to remove the potentially malignant mass in her chest.

ORLANDO, Fla., March 15, 2010 - Dr. David Decker recently joined the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI) and will serve as the new executive director. He will oversee all operational aspects of FHCI.

The Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI) is accredited by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) as a Community Hospital - Comprehensive Cancer Program (COMP). To earn this accreditation, FHCI demonstrated it diagnoses 650 or more newly diagnosed cancer cases each year and provides a full range of diagnostic and treatment services. Our physicians are board certified in the major medical specialties and actively participate in clinical research.
