The Florida Hospital Cancer Institute Welcomes Dr. David Decker as New Executive Director

ORLANDO, Fla., March 15, 2010 - Dr. David Decker recently joined the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI) and will serve as the new executive director. He will oversee all operational aspects of FHCI.         

Dr. Decker has extensive training and educational background in both Hematology and Oncology. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters and has also presented nationally and internationally at various scientific conferences.  He has been an investigator on multiple industry and National Cancer Institute grants.  He started and served as the principle investigator of one of the most successful Community Cancer Oncology Programs in the country.  Additionally, Dr. Decker has trained and mentored many physicians.

Prior to joining FHCI, Dr. Decker served as Director of Research and Education of the William Beaumont Cancer Treatment Center, and Chief of the Hematology and Oncology division at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. He is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine, and completed a residency in Internal Medicine and an Oncology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.  He is a clinical Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University.
