Florida Hospital Cancer Institute Receives National Accreditation from Commission on Cancer

The Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI) recently received a three-year commendation and accreditation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program. The accreditation recognizes the availability of full-range medical services, major specialties, clinical research and multi-disciplinary approach to patient care at FHCI.

Florida Hospital Cancer Institute 2011 Oncology Update - Click to See Fox 35 Interview

Over 150 oncology physicians, nurse practioners and nurses met in Orlando at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute 2011 Oncology Update to discuss and review new oncology research with leading physicians from around the United States and Candada.

Fox 35 News highlighted Dr. Lee Zehngebot and Dr. Tarek Mekhail research and clinical trials on skin and lung cancer. Both trials were discusssed at the 2011 Oncology Update.

Dr. Lee Zehngebot Speaks about the FDA Approval on Melanoma Drug Trialed at Florida Hospital

4/7/11 Dr. Zehngebot, Florida Hospital Cancer Institute, speaks to Fox 35 News about the melanoma drug that has just been approved by the FDA. Florida Hospital has been involved in the clinical trial for this drug for the last three years. This is the first melanoma drug that has shown to improve survivorship among melanoma patients.
