Head and Neck Surgical Oncologists

The head and neck surgeons (Otolaryngologists) at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute are offering patients access to new surgical options for difficult head and neck tumors. These board-certified otolaryngology surgeons are experienced in treating complex head and neck cases.

Some of the newer techniques performed by the surgeons include transoral laser microsurgery, which treats tumors in the throat, and alleviates many of the adverse side effects of conventional surgery. The surgeons at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute also perform endoscopic, anterior skull base surgeries in conjunction with Florida Hospital’s neurosurgical team team to treat sinus tumors. These types of surgeries allow for rapid recovery and shorter hospitalization for patients.

The head and neck surgeons remain focused on maintaining form and function without compromising curability. The latest techniques aim to provide minimal side-effects while pushing the envelope of operability.

The head and neck surgeons work closely with the radiation and medical oncologists to develop the best individualized treatment plan for each patient via the interdisciplinary tumor board.
