Neuro-Oncology
Our highly specialized Neuro-Oncology Center is one of few such centers in the southeastern U.S. to provide state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for patients with brain tumors or other neurological complications of cancer. In fact, Florida Hospital has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of “America’s Best Hospitals” for Neurology and Neurosurgery for four years in a row.
Our interdisciplinary team of experts specializes in the diagnosis and management of:
- Primary malignant brain or spinal tumors (adult and pediatric)
- Complications of benign brain or spinal tumors
- Metastatic cancer directly affecting the brain or spinal cord
- Neurological complications of cancers elsewhere in the body
- Treatment-related complications affecting the central or peripheral nervous system
As the only facility in the Southeast with the non-invasive Leskell Gamma Knife 4C, we are also offering hope for many patients who were formerly considered untreatable or at very high risk for open-skull surgery. For more information on the Florida Hospital Gamma Knife Center, click here.
And because of our research affiliations with multiple academic medical centers and pharmaceutical companies, we provide our patients with access to the most modern therapies and treatment protocols available. Our patients are also able to participate in national clinical trials that offer unique treatments for neurological and spinal tumors.
