Thoracic Cancer Coordinator
A key member of the Thoracic Cancer Team is our Thoracic Cancer Coordinator who is dedicated to improving the diagnostic and treatment process for thoracic and lung cancer patients. A diagnosis of thoracic or lung cancer can be devastating and leave patients feeling overwhelmed, scared and confused. The care coordinator supports both the physical and emotional needs of patients by empowering them with options, answers and emotional support while expediting the lung cancer treatment and planning process.
Our Thoracic Cancer Coordinator is available as a complimentary service for those who have a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of thoracic or lung cancer. She is there to explain procedures and options, assist patients with rapid scheduling of all appointments and consultations with the Thoracic Cancer Team, and put patients in touch with the latest clinical trials. The Thoracic Cancer Coordinator also offers comprehensive nursing assessment and support, as well as symptom management, lung cancer information and much more. In addition, because lung cancer patients often require surgery and more extensive hospital stays, the Thoracic Cancer Coordinator is a nurse practitioner who remains in touch with patient care and management both in and out of the hospital.
