Thoracic / Lung Cancer Program
Making a Difference for Patients with Thoracic & Lung Cancer
At the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute, we offer our lung cancer patients access to more comprehensive services, advanced technology and breakthrough research than any other program in our community. In fact we have one of the largest lung cancer programs in Florida.
We know that thoracic or lung cancer patients often need a combination of therapies – from surgery to radiation to chemotherapy -- to help combat their disease. That is why we’ve formed a Thoracic / Lung Cancer Team of the country’s leading experts in the field. This team meets weekly and works closely together to manage each patient’s individual case.
Primary care physicians, thoracic surgeons, pulmonologists, medical and radiation oncologists, gastroenterologists, radiologists, and pathologists work alongside oncology-trained nurses, clinical research nurses, patient educators, social workers and other cancer specialists to provide care. And through this multidisciplinary team approach, we deliver more powerful and effective treatment plans that can lead to better outcomes for our patients.
