Leading the Way in Lung Cancer and Esophageal Cancer Research and Treatment
At the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI), our lung cancer and esophageal cancer center in Orlando provides patients and their families with exceptional care and education. Our physicians treat more cancer patients than any other health system in Florida, and provide a comprehensive continuum of services ranging from disease prediction and prevention to state-of-the-art detection, treatment and research – encompassed by educational, psychological and spiritual support.
But don’t think for a moment that our lung cancer and esophageal cancer patients are just numbers to us. Nothing could be further from the truth. Each patient who walks through our doors receives the full attention of our entire team – from our Cancer Care Coordinators to our physician specialists, nurses, and social workers.
You will find our approach to medicine to be filled with compassion, caring, concern and open, honest communication. We want to build a relationship with you that is built on trust as well as excellence in medical care.
It’s a tradition that dates back to our humble origins more than a century ago when a group of Adventist church leaders first came to Orlando in 1908. With just $4.93 in the bank and a big dream in their hearts, they started what is now Florida Hospital, the largest and most advanced hospital in the region with a legacy marked by our century-old commitment to heal the whole person – emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Multidisciplinary Team Approach to Lung & Esophageal Cancer Care
At the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute, we are driven to make a difference in every life we touch. From access to the most advanced technologies and therapies available to a team of more than 200 of the most respected and skilled cancer physicians in the region, the FHCI is dedicated to providing you with superior care, from early detection to current clinical trials that one day may hold the key to neutralizing or even curing thoracic cancer.
We know that lung and esophageal cancer patients often need a combination of therapies – from surgery to radiation to chemotherapy in order to combat this disease. That is why we’ve formed a Thoracic Cancer Team comprised of the country’s leading experts in the field to provide a multidisciplinary approach for the diagnosis and treatment of thoracic cancers. This team meets regularly and works closely together to manage each patient’s individual case.
What's more, we have made it extremely convenient for you to have ready access to this team of experts. A single call to our Cancer Care Coordinators is all it takes. They are your single point of contact for everything you need, from scheduling appointments with our specialists to providing access to clinical trials and second opinion referrals.
