Targeted therapy can deliver a range of drugs designed to disrupt abnormal cellular signals that allow cancer cells to grow and multiply. The brand name drugs Avastin, Votrient, Nexavar and Sutent help to suppress the growth of blood vessels that serve the tumor.  Torisel and Afinitor are administered to block the cancer cells' ability to grow and thrive. Side effects can include possibly severe rashes, diarrhea and fatigue.
