Dr. Hwang is board certified in radiation oncology and practices general radiation oncology, with a particular focus on breast and head and neck cancers. She earned her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, where she also completed an internal medicine internship and a residency in radiation oncology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. During her last year of training, she served as Chief Resident. She has extensive experience with 3D conformal radiation therapy and intensity modulated radiation therapy, as well as low dose rate and high dose rate brachytherapy.
In addition to providing exemplary care, she has presented and published in depth medical research on breast, anal and prostate cancer, as well as glioblastoma. While at the Medical College of Wisconsin, she reached the rank of Associate Professor in Clinical Radiation Oncology and served as Medical Director of the Radiation Oncology Program at United Hospital Systems. She is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
